Principle of technology

A real technological breakthrough, the approach developed by Click4Tag consists in specifically functionalizing the membrane of microorganisms of interest via the natural assimilation and then the integration of a « hook » onto this membrane. Afterwards, this anchorpoint allows, via a « click » reaction, to associate classical tags such as:

  • A fluorescent probe to detect, enumerate and / or identify microorganisms of interest [1],[2],
  • Magnetic beads in order to concentrate / isolate specifically microorganisms of interest,
  • According to the choice of probe, it is possible to obtain a specific detection. For example, Gram negative bacteria are « revealed » by the assimilation of a 3-deoxy-D-manno-octulosonic acid derivative [2].

Nowadays, our probe library is composed of 2 molecules, one targeting Gram negative bacteria [2] and the other one targeting specifically the bacterium L. pneumophila [1].

Other probes are under development.
